VIC: 72 year old woman struck down in handbag theft
A 72-year-old woman was struck unconscious and her handbag stolen in an attack in inner
Melbourne last night.
Police say the woman was walking along Malvern Road, Prahran, about 6.30pm when an unknown
person approached her from behind.
In a statement police say the woman felt a heavy blow to the back of her head and fell to
the ground unconscious.
The woman only remembers her left arm being tugged, and when she came to, her bag was gone.
A passerby helped the woman to her feet but didn't witnesses the incident.
The woman walked to her flat to raise the alarm.
